The Second Greatest Gift

I truly believe that the greatest gift that can be shared with another person is the knowledge of Jesus.  That’s part of why it’s so exciting to me to be preaching on Christmas day this year.

But if Jesus is the greatest gift, what is the second greatest gift?

My opinion may change on this in the future, but this year, I’m gonna have to say, health!

What a truly humbling experience I just had of being sick for almost two straight weeks!  And what a terrible experience it was as well.

I am certainly thankful for everyone who uttered a prayer on my behalf and I’m still praising God as often as the thought occurs to me for the restoration of my health.

I’m still trying to process the lessons learned during my time of illness, but one thing that I made myself do in the midst of my suffering was to praise God every day.

You know, God hates illness because illness derives from sin.  Not necessarily my sin, but illness came into the world when sin did, and with it, physical death.

How do I know God hates illness?  Because one day soon, He will do away with illness forever.  In the meantime, we have to deal with illness as best we can.

If you feel good this Christmastime, don’t forget to praise God.  But if you don’t feel good this Christmastime, also, don’t forget to praise God!

He will deal with all things that ail His people!  There’s a great day coming!  Praise the Lord!

Much love!
