Celebrate!

I love that the Lord loves celebrations.  The Lord loves celebrations so much that He commanded several celebrations in the Old Testament law.

We typically don’t call them celebrations, but instead, we call them what the Bible calls them, Feasts. If I’m honest, I don’t even like celebrations that are not also feasts.

Some people eat to live and others live to eat and the live to eat category is the one that I’m in.

We’re no longer commanded to celebrate, but I still believe that it’s an expectation of the Lord that we celebrate.  Why do I think that?

In the Old Testament all of the celebrations were commanded so that Israel would remember what the Lord did for them.

We’re not commanded to celebrate, but we live in the most blessed time of all time.  We live in the time of the knowledge of Jesus.  Because of Jesus, we have reason to celebrate every day!

Plan to join us tonight at 5:30 in the fellowship hall to celebrate our conclusion of the Book of Matthew.  We will celebrate in the best way – we will feast!  And we will feast on BBQ of many varieties, all the traditional sides and top it off with desert.

Much Love!
