A Year in Reveiw

Wow!  Can you believe we’ve been together for over a year now?  God has been so good to me in the last year.  It hasn’t been without struggles, but the struggles cause a greater bond.

I hope you haven’t had as many struggles with me as I’ve had with myself.  Learning to be a preacher is tough!  I couldn’t have done it without God’s grace and your constant encouragement.  After a year, I feel that I’m getting the hang of preaching, but I promise to not grow complacent.  I’m certain that there is a lifetime of improvement to go.  Here are some of the year’s highlights:

So far, we’ve covered almost seven full chapters of Matthew, thirty Psalms and the first half of the David’s life.  We’ve had a lot of fellowship meals, provided literally thousands of cookies to residents at Winfield Rest Haven and the teachers of the schools of Wellington and collected droves of groceries for Carpenter Place and Westview Boys home.

We’ve provided monthly devotionals at Winfield Rest Haven and at other facilities in Wellington.  We’ve supported missionary efforts and taken part in short-term missions.  We’ve evangelized locally at Picnic in the Park, the Wheat Festival parade and Vacation Bible School.

There have been many women’s Bible studies and fellowship activities.  The Man-Up ministry has had a lot of fun and studied leadership lessons from the life of Paul.  The youth have been busy at various youth events and have served those who are shut-in with baskets of goodies at the holidays.

Kendall has learned to valiantly wrestle four children without my help during worship service!

There are many more good deeds that this body of believers has done behind the scenes – you know who you are and God sees and rewards your service.

I am proud to be a part of this church family!  That is who you are to me.  It’s with you that I plan to spend all eternity.  Let us remember the words of Paul, who said in Galatians 6:9-10

Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

Let’s keep up the good work so that God is glorified in us and through us.  It is for this purpose that we were saved!

Much Love!
