Over the next few chapters in our study of the Book of Acts, we get to observe the Apostle Paul navigating life while waiting for a particular life event to happen.
The event in question is Paul going to Rome. Paul wants to go and he has been told that he will go, but the difficulty that Paul faces is similar to the difficulty that we face.
The difficulty lies in the waiting.
Just as Paul would wait for it to be revealed to him how and when he would reach Rome, we too eagerly await the return of the Lord Jesus so we can make the journey to that new land that we can only imagine.
In between where we are now and our desired destination, lies life. And what we do in the time in between matters.
How blessed we are to have a record of what Paul did in his in between time. As we make a careful observance of how Paul lived out his faith in Jesus, effectively following Him, doing the good works that God placed before him, let us make note of how we might do the same.
Our end goal should be to hear the words of the Lord Jesus from Matthew 25:21 –
“Well done good and faithful servant.”
Also, remember you are not alone in your following of Jesus – the church is here with you and for you.
Much love!
