Back to the Jungle

As of this past Thursday night, The Park Church of Christ, my old church from Tulsa, was in the process of purchasing airline tickets to Honduras.

If it’s God’s will, and all goes according to plan, Rex and I will join four other men from my old church to go on a mission trip on June 11-18.

We won’t have as many people this year, but we’ll still do our best to bless the jungle community we work with as much as possible.

This will include working with the local church, working with the community school and working with families in the community.

I will get to teach a class and preach at the church. We have a teacher who will work with students at the school, and we will have a crew that builds latrines at homes in the community we work with.

Our coach isn’t coming this year, so unfortunately we won’t get to have our soccer clinic.

I will be taking a financial gift to the church, which has a preacher that we have supported in the past and who my family has supported for years named Cristobal Ramirez. His wife is a registered nurse and works for the medical mission that coordinates our trips, the national medical mission, Predisan.

If you would like to contribute to the financial gift to the church, please see me. The money given provides, but is not limited to, the following- community meals served every Sunday after church, home repairs and furniture for needy families in the church and community, supplies and curriculum for a preacher / Bible teacher training school that Cristobal runs through the church, school uniforms for families that cannot afford them, medicine, etc.

This is a mission that is close to my heart so I covet your prayers before the trip, that all goes smoothly, during the trip, that real good is accomplished and Christ is glorified and after the trip that the seeds planted will grow up into the salvation of souls!

Much love!
